Rapid City Regional Airport

Rapid City Regional is a great little airport! It's got a pretty neat vibe and plays off the history of the local air force base. It is one of my favorite small airports to travel in and out of.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. In the entire front row of parking there are a whopping FOUR handicap parking spaces! I guess the lazy SD drivers are unwilling to walk, and instead leave it up to the disabled to do their best walking a longer distance to the terminal.Of course any response will be the typical, not our responsibility Then once you finally get into the terminal building you are assaulted with the warnings that you must wear a mask, all the while watching airport employees, TSA, and RCPD personnel pulling theirs down below their chins so they can stand around staring at you and trying to talk their jobs done!And God forbid that when you are the one and only person trying to struggle down the zig-zag garbage path to the TSA security check point that the eight or ten TSA employees would offer to assist you!This is the biggest joke of an airport I have ever been in, and that is quite a few over several countries and several continents!Of course from reading the responses from RCRA it is NEVER anyone's responsibility in this back-water two-bit airport!!

Super easy to go through, small, only 6 tore. clean. it is well organized and since it is not a high-volume airport, it has much space not to feel overwhelmed with people. there is a food court area to go with eating, were packed and a place to sit. from security to supporters, everyone is super friendly. not too many direct flights, but minneapolis is an hour flight away, so it is a convenient connecting hub.

Overall the airport is a nice facility, but julie at Allegiant counter has absolutely ruined the experience of my family here. she was so rude to us when we walked to foot to check our bags until she scanned our boarding passes into the plane. many other local moats that noticed our bad experiences informed us that normal behavior was for julie. they had often seen this lack of respect from her. rapid city’s allegiant counter gets a terrible review from me!

A part of the regional airport rapid city is a classic small American experience. the safety control point was essentially a flur with a scanner. the baggage claim was a man who distributed the people's personal bags over a rolling garage door. the shuttle service was 2 older people who led people to their front doors and to their hotels. grew up in a similar city, it became familiar with an old college friend.
