Great place for a fun night karaoke drinks and a meal connected directly to Perkins. Love this place and this is not my usual idea for fun and drinks. Not to mention a hotel next door. View all feedback.
What Jessy Schroeder doesn't like about Cheers Sports Casino:
Was expecting more when I found my hotel had a bar. Unfortunately, I heard changes had been made, including the hours, food not being available, no karaoke, etc. that have turned this into a typical small bar place. Probably good for the guests in general, but disappointed me because I had to get rides downtown instead and walked back 50 minutes both Thursday and Friday night because of no rides being available (whet... The bartender on weekdays was quite inexperienced, to say the least. In contrast, the other staff member was friendly, engaging, and had a playful personality that made the experience enjoyable.
This review is for a bar and casino connected to the Grand Gateway Hotel. The bar has a classic, low-light atmosphere with decor on the walls. During our stay at the hotel, we noticed placards in the elevators indicating the nightly food options, which sparked our interest. On Friday night, feeling tired, we decided we only wanted to try the drawn pig from the bar. However, when we arrived, the bartender informed us that they didn't serve food and that the signs were incorrect. He kindly suggested we check out Perkins, which is next door. Although he was very friendly and offered us drinks, we were really just looking for something to eat.
Due to the ongoing discriminatory treatment of indigenous peoples by the owner of the Gateway Hotel, who also owns Cheers Sports Bar & Casino, I wish I could give this establishment zero stars! These businesses should be shut down!
My rating, until recently, was 5 s. However, in light of the continued discriminatory prejudicial treatment of my fellow tribal members by Grand Gateway Hotel owner, my opinion has completely changed. If I had the option to give them 0 s, I would have.I absolutely will NOT give them a single penny, a single compliment, or a single second to attempt to lie their way out of this entire illegal and shameful situation. And I don't care if you are a Native American, a non-Native, a Good NDN, or a Bad NDN, you should NOT give them your support/money either because, by staying at the hotel and/or spending money at this bar, you are condoning the owner's actions (and therefore, YOU are also a violent, racist, disgraceful individual). So, which side of this dispute are you on.........???
Owners said Native Americans are not welcome. Owners now being sued. Racists will love this place.
