Vim’s kitchen is a very special place. combines chique eastern suburbs hipster diner with authentic Malaysian family kitchen. I have been regular since the last 5 years! View all feedback.
What Darlene Moen doesn't like about Vim's Kitchen Truly Malaysian:
NO GO. Tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. We live locally and regularly pass in the evenings and it always seems quite busy so obviously saw this as a good sign. Sad to say it was not a good experience. We had the chicken satay sticks, butter chicken curry and prawn sambal. The prawn dish being the worst, the sauce was like water, the prawns may have well been just boiled in water they were that tastel... View all feedback.
This was a real disappointment. The squid was extremely sharp, and it did not specify this in the menu. The chicken curry had a few chicken pieces and was mainly sauce. A terrible meal that costs much too much what it was.
Some friends and I recently eaten in Vims Restaurant. We were very disappointed as the food was very common and not until their usual high standard. The appetizers of Satay chicken, spring rolls were very small. The main course, the butter-chicken serving was also quite small and the sauce very thin and constantly. The Lammkorma was not much better. I eated much better dishes in Mand's Indian Restaurant in Avoca St Randwick. My friends and I will not return to Vims for another meal. It used to be an excellent restaurant and good value for money, but not anymore.
We wanted to go to bake bar, but we don't have a service for 15 minutes, so we thought we would take our use next door. the next door is an exotic looking Malaysian restaurant called vim’s. what a wonderful decision, which was how we enjoyed our hearty meal of a nice rogue, long fancier, roti canai with chicken curry and mango leti. the food was delicious and the aromas were fantastic. the service was caring and yet unobtrusive and made us feel at home. it felt like we were eating in an old tante house.
Well authentic Malaysian cuisine full of original aromatics says someone who lived in Malaysia for two years. the service is left, however, and the prices are quite high for a take-off type food.
The bark rendang and the chicken atam were so hot that they were not edible. I love malay, Thai and Indian cuisine and am not shy of hot food. the heat was so exaggerated that she killed every taste. really venerable. cook was also rude. never again.
