We were staying close by and walked to the club. Receptionist was happy and obliging. We went upstairs to the restaurant which was a good size and seated at a table with plenty of room and a big lazy susan on the table. There was 7 of us and we each ordered a meal and we shared. There was plenty of food for us and it was quite tasty. The waiters were very nice and attentive to our needs. At the end we were given a di... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Randwick Labor Club:
I went there for a beer. The only beers they have are the usual Tooheys New, Tooheys Old, Carlton Draught and VB. My God, how are they expected to get any customers to this place? I wrote a letter stating to just put one craft...beer on tap. No, I received a reply stating that the club can't rearrange the current beer lines. Are they joking? the restaurant upstairs is unbelievably bad, the staff are rude, the beers a... View all feedback.
Attended, nice and clean. The only nteraction with staff was to get money off the card
Excellent service. Make sure to request the young man. He is great.
This restaurant has improved in a positive way with more tables and chairs for customers to sit and relax while enjoying their drinks. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
My husband and I went to the club for their New Year's Eve "celebrations". It was disappointing and frustrating from the off. We went to Zhu Canton - the Chinese restaurant on level 3- first . Separate review for that. Then we went up to the 4th floor to watch the Harbour fireworks from the balcony. We went out on to the balcony and sat on the only remaining chairs out there - really small hard metal relics from the 40s by the look of them. I went to the bar and tried to get the attention of the barman ( a large young man with a beard and the double of Zach Galifianakis ) Bearing in mind this bar was about 4 ft by 6 ft and nobody else was waiting you would think this would be easy. Wrong! There was a female member of staff in there , on the phone to someone and he ignored me and just stood there gawping at her. In the end I had to say ' hi, can I order a drink please? ' He just looked at me like I was an alien. So, I ask him if he had a wine list and he said no , then wandered off , when he returned I asked if he could tell me what white wines they had. He then proceeded to mumble wine brand names but not what type. I then noticed a wine list at the back of the bar and asked him if I could see it. It only appeared to sell wine by the bottles so I opted for something else. His attention was gone again unfortunately, so again I had to stand there like a lemon until he tuned back in and then I had to say again, can i get a drink please? That took an eternity to pour, it was painful. He didn't say please or thanks when telling me the cost and giving me change. He was really rude and about as much good as a chocolate teapot behind the bar. I really didn't want to have to deal with him again so I went to the bar when the female staff member was serving. They were doing cocktails for the evening so I thought I'd try one given it was happy hour. I soon changed my mind when I found out what they were charging. $11! I asked the bar tender what was the happy hour price and was told that was it! Usually they are $13! This for a shot of alcohol and some fruit !! In a subsidised labour club!! My husband and I thought we would try the downstairs bar to see if there was more atmosphere and sparkier service. Wrong again. What a miserable place. I know that clubs have poker machines but this place takes the cake. You can't move for the machines down there and they dominate the whole floor in front of the bar, not in a side room like many other clubs and more machines then seating down there. So the choice was pokie hell downstairs or a morgue with incompetent and rude staff upstairs. We left after the 9pm fireworks not staying until midnight and went home where we had way more fun. Never again.
