What John P dislikes about Corner 75:
I’ve been looking forward to this restaurant for a very long time so I expected more. Whilst the staff are very friendly and the restaurant itself is cosy, it’s also very noisy dependent upon where your seated. We had a large and noisy group near us which was unpleasant. Dinner was lovely and reminded me of home style food from growing up (no, I'm not from a Hungarian background but regularly had paprika chicken and stroganoff etc). Food is heavy cream based as you should expect from that sort of thing, so don't go expecting diet food. The restaurant is kinda' older style but that's cool anyway. Check out the photo collection. The service is wonderful, the waiter was fun and friendly, the owner was present, engaged and lovely. Recommended.
Hungarian restaurants aren't very common in Sydney which is one of the reasons why Corner 75 has established such a great reputation over the years. The other reason is the wonderful food of course. Hearty and homely traditional Hungarian fare probably sums up the offerings here. That said, why a couple of the dishes may not technically be traditional Hungarian food, it's easy to see the influence. I first visited with a Hungarian family member who helped with some of the menu items. However I've been back several times without the inside knowledge and have managed to order a range of wonderful dishes under the guidance of the knowledgeable and welcoming floor staff. Be sure to give some of the Hungarian red wine a try if it's in stock (the "bull's blood"), it's a good table wine and fits the theme nicely. Whilst I think the style of this food suits winter weather perfectly, it could be adaptable to warmer weather also, so whatever time of the year give... read more

We are visiting from US and my girlfriend is Hungarian. This was the most delightful surprise of our trip. The food was so delicious and well presented. Familiar yet new. Each bite from Langos to dessert wine was a treasure. And the staff was like family. We were so fortunate to find Corner 75.
We were fortunate to get an early booking here and got the table by the window. The food was all amazing and good value. The lángos bread is so tasty. We also enjoyed the dry white white.
Lovely place and people makes one feel really welcome and food was as usual brilliant Been before will go again
We went to the restaurant 8 people the place is not big service bet slow short staff Parking in the street the food was good I like to tray the original food like vel goulash langosh Facilities reasonable at the second floor 22 steps to get up Praise very reasonable

The entrees were nice and plentiful which included Hungarian garlic bread, calamari and mushrooms all of which were very nice. I had one of their ‘specialty’ dishes which was the crispy roast duck. Regrettably it was dry and over cooked. Some of the others looked nice enough including the beef goulash. I may return to try others but I won’t hurry.

Always a joy to dine in this very delightful restaurant. The owner is a true and real person. The staff are extremely pleasant and attentive but not intrusive. Food is always delectable.

Their duck and veal knuckle were the best dishes of the day and I strongly recommend those two. They were incredibly yummy and big. However, I was pretty content with the rest of the dishes. My Hungarian friend pointed out that those two are not ‘Authentic’ Hungarian. The brassoi and lecho were as close as you can get from the ‘real Hungarian cuisine. a 7 out of 10!
Suitably stuffed we made our way home in the rain thinking maybe winter won't be too bad after all as we'll get to eat at Corner 75 again soon.
