Poole'side Pies - Raleigh
Poole'side Pies
Description
Poole'side Pies captivates with its charming pool-themed decor and a menu rich in creative options. While many patrons praise the delicious wood-fired pizzas and standout dishes like Bucatini Amatriciana, others report inconsistencies in food quality, including burnt pizzas and bland flavors. Service experiences vary, with some enjoying attentive staff, while others felt unwarrantedly mistreated. Despite its vintage aesthetic, which some find unwelcoming, the restaurant does offer locally sourced ingredients and unique offerings. Overall, while Poole'side Pies has potential, diners suggest exploring other options depending on preferences for food and service.

Came here on a Saturday night for dinner. Very cool ambience, you really feel like you are at the pool and about to eat delicious pizza. The pizza itself was good but very thin slices. If that’s your jam then you’ll like it. I prefer thickercrusts. Good selection of drinks and a decent appetizer selection. The great service would make me come back, very nice andattentive staff.
There 's a certain 'vintage aesthetic ' that, regardless of how visually cute it is, isn 't welcoming and this place has those vibes. IYKYK But, if you can get past that the food is wonderful. The Rigatoni Bolognese didn 't have the acidity I 've noticed inmany of the meat sauces of Triangle restaurants, however, the portion was much smaller than I expected for $19. If, like me,you 've never had Panna Cotta jiggle warning it 's like a cross between jello and yogurt. The hazelnut was a great complementand added the right amount of crunch/texture. I didn 't touch the strawberry slices. The Margherita was $16 and was pretty muchwhat you would expect. The Sausage alla Vodka was $18.
The food was delicious, presentation was exceptional, the entire experience was incredibly pleasant. We had the macaroni and calamari starters, the margherita and pepperoni pizzas, the banana panacotta and vanilla ice cream for dessert. Every bite wasa delight! Not a single dish missed in my opinion. To top it off, our server, Maddy, was one of the most pleasant, friendly, and fun servers I've ever had. It made an already-great experience even better!
I went to this restaurant for dinner on a Saturday night, and the atmosphere was really nice, giving me the feeling of dining by a pool while getting ready to enjoy some tasty pizza. The pizza was enjoyable, though the slices were quite thin. If you're a fan of thin crust pizza, you'll definitely appreciate it. I, however, tend to prefer thicker crusts. They offered a great variety of drinks and a nice selection of appetizers. The outstanding service from the friendly and attentive staff is definitely a reason for me to return.
The pizzas are handcrafted with a limited selection available. However, the menu may not be the best fit for children, both in terms of prices and options. The food was delicious, but the service was rather mediocre. It was hard to get the staff’s attention since they were busy chatting amongst themselves at the register. On the plus side, the restaurant is conveniently situated within walking distance of the Red Hat, making it a great choice for a meal before a concert.
