Th... read more A lively 'local ' bar on the corner near the Cathedral. Sit outside with the locals and if you are here during the World Cup watch the football Ciao Brazil ! They have a 'free ' antipasti/tapas style smorgasbord to enjoy with your drinks during happy hour 8 10.30 ? . Open late. The are no drinks menus and the bottled wine is a bit exsy relatively. Happy staff and good service.

Our accommodation was close to the Cattedrale San Giovani so, having walked to Ragusa Ibla to see the old part of town, we were looking for somewhere to eat aro... read more Our accommodation was close to the Cattedrale San Giovani so, having walked to Ragusa Ibla to see the old part of town, we were looking for somewhere to eat around the cathedral. It was a festival weekend so the streets were packed and bands were playing on various stages. We had seen SO earlier in the day and photographed its quirky statues (a man leaning over a balcony, a woman sat in the corner of the outside seating and a young boy relieving himself against the wall). The outside seating area was full but the glass walls were open and sitting inside was just as al fresco. We noticed that the bar was piled with food, so we ordered a bottle of wine (20 euro) and filled a small plate from the great selection on offer. One more plate and we were full, unlike the couple next to us who must visited the bar 5 or 6 times, but nobody seemed to bother. So that was it, our evening meal for the price of a bottle of wine. What's not to like?
