Visible from way down in the valley, this villa-like restaurant was the goal on our hike up the hill and to the Bismarkturm (one of the many tower-like construc... read more Visible from way down in the valley, this villa-like restaurant was the goal on our hike up the hill and to the Bismarkturm (one of the many tower-like constructions in Germany named after the Iron Chancellor). While a Sunday lunchtime crowd totally filled the indoor restaurant section, we managed to get seats outside in the nice self-service garden area under trees with a fantastic view of the entire Elbe valley. We enjoyed good Zwiebelkuchen, grilled Bratwurst from Thuringia, and the traditional refreshing Federweisser light wine available in late summer all over Germany, a perfect way to end our weekend in Dresden and surroundings.
