This fabulous authentic caffe is a wonderful place to start your day. We stopped here for coffee and ciambella daily while we were in Radda in Chianti. Good coffee, fresh pastry, friendly service and lots of local colour just what we wanted. View all feedback.
Don’t pass this pasticceria by. For breakfast delicious croissants. We particularly enjoyed the cornetta al crema pistachio. Excellent cappuccino and friendly efficient service make this a neighborhood gathering spot. Of course the views of the Chianti countryside from our table earned this humble place a favorite in all of Italy.
When I travel I typically will try to not repeat experiences. There 's too many things to see and try and places to go so I get a little stressed out when I do the same thing twice. That being said we spent a week in Tuscany and found this little place on our first morning. We went back every day. The cappuccino is fantastic, the people are kind, it is quick, the pastries were great, sandwiches phenomenal. We could always find a seat out front with a great view and people watching perch. Tourist and bikers roll through all day it seems like. Everything is handmade. There are views of Tuscan country side walking up to it. There is a pharmacy next door. There is a little shopping street down the center of the town. It was an hour of every one of our days in Tuscany. Time well spent.
Just a sandwich bar with gelato, but take away panini tasty and good prices! Also a selection of cakes and pastries.
Bar Sandy in Radda serves great ice cream. That's it in a nutshell. Like all Italian Galeteria, the choice is wide and the quality great. But in Radda. you have the advantage of being able to sit on the roadside and watch the beautiful little Tuscan town and it's many visitors and locals go about their business. It's great.
We have been visiting “Chianti-shire” for many years and whenever we pop into Radda there is one place that we always feel is worth a visit, whether it’s for a relaxing coffee and a pastry, a light snack and a well-served birra alla spina or a fabulous ice cream. There are lots and it seems an ever-increasing number of places in Radda for food and refreshment, including some very good restaurants where we have had the pleasure of dining, and some great places for a snack, a drink and a “people-watch”. The difference with Sandy Café or following it’s recent refurbishment Sampoli Lapis Pasticceria Gelateria is that it is a little understated and less showy than some others. It has a great location overlooking the valley and facing the main town square adjacent to the cinema and so does not have the appearance of a picturesque back street pavement café. But what is does have is great staff, lovely pastries, well served beers and drinks and, particularly, really excellent ice cream. It’s one of those places that is frequented by locals and well as informed tourists. We were introduced to the place over 12 years ago by the driver when we were on a tour of local vineyards, and its been a firm favourite ever since. With its new facelift it’s a great place and well worth a visit, if only for the great gelato. Just don’t go on Monday as that’s the day they have a rest .
