Hobnob - Racine

This is not what I expected, every item on the menu was an add on or a up charge, fish fry special turned out to be $81.00 for two, not a special to me! Very disappointing will not return.

The Hob Nob is an absolute gem and continues to impress on every level of the fine dining experience.

Odd old fashioned supper club. Lake views for a few tables. Highly decorated in painted trumph le ole style art on walls depicting scenes and furnishings. Fake fireplace consists of mantle against a brick wall. The food was only ok and very expensive. $40.00for 4 scallops that were not quite done in the center. We had upcharges for twice baked potato that was sneakily offerred by the waitress as if were part of the standard dinner choices. $6.00 extra for the potato. Everything was a bit overpriced compared to other restaurants but the food was only mediocre. The wilted spinach salad was only ok and lacked the spiciness and zest of the traditional dish. Its a good place to try for circuses and lakeviews and realize that the view is what you are going for, not so much high quality food.

Having grown up on the north side of Chicago near Sheffield and Belmont I spent a great deal of time at the lake . Add to that 40 plus years of going up north I have enjoyed many supper clubs. This establishment has both! I was alone for dinner and wanted to feel that comfort that only an up north supper club can offer and I was pleasantly surprised. The service from the start was impeccable. The hostess and server were both great! McKennize was a delight! Thank you for the great meal last night! It was just what the doctor ordered!

Was really disappointed with the food. Went there for our anniversary and it was just not good. The steak Oscar was recommended and it tasted like a school lunch so we asked for something else and they brought us the chicken version. It was just as bad. I don't like writing negative reviews but since the prices are so high the food was really that bad I am. Service was pretty good and the ambiance is OK. The view of the lake was best part.
