The less interesting was ormeaux but none was really below the others. Wine by Frederique, the sommelier is of a great quality at very reasonable price. She is really passionate about her job and loves to share about it. Looking forward to coming back and spend again an amazing evening thanks to Frederique and Lionel and their team !!

It’s in a beautif... read more Our dinner at Allium was one of the best of the trip. Allium is a beautiful restaurant, with an herb garden and a statuary outside the window. It’s in a beautiful setting right near the river on the outskirts of Quimper. We both ordered the...simplest menu, but there was nothing simple about it. It started with 5 separate “amuse bouche” which were all delicious. After that the dishes we had were crab meat with tomato pulp, herbs and flowers, and black mullet with gnocchi, artichoke and a few other things. For dessert, we had cheese and figs. Everything was excellent, the dishes were beautiful works of art, and the service was perfect. The request of the kitchen here is that the entire table have the same menu. That wasn’t a problem until dessert. I don’t eat figs (which were the dessert item of the menu), but there was no problem swapping my figs for the cheese dessert. We can highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

My wife and me went to the restaurant some days ago. The food was wonderful and the wine list is very good and affordable. They even created two surprise menus (since I do not favour fish) and the owner drove us back to...the hotel after midnight since no single cab in Quimper was available. Thank you!

They had made the reservation so it made it difficult f... read more We recently visited this restaurant with our French friends, thanking them for their recent hospitality. They had made the reservation so it made it difficult for us to pass any on any comments during the meal to the management. In our opinion the food was...good without being exceptional. The major issue for all of us is that it took 4 hours . We arrived at 8 and left at 12:15 . We can’t see how this acceptable under any circumstances. Not only that it took nearly an hour before we were offered anything to drink . At no point was there any indication by staff that this was anything but normal. We have eaten In a number of Michelin star restaurants, including l’enclume(in the U.K. where a 15 course taster menu took less than 3 hours and was infinitely more creative. We have eaten in restaurants since Allium in France and the U.K. where we have to say that the food was far more creative, and the service was immeasurably better. The 3 star in our review is in all honesty hard to justify if we were looking at service, creativity(which we would expect in a Michelin starred restaurant , price and quality. We have to assume that maybe we were unlucky, but seeing some other reviews not convinced by this .
