What Cathleen L doesn't like about Hainanese Delights:
I 'd only heard of the famed hainanese chicken from one too many food documentaries all over Youtube. Never did I think I 'd actually be able to taste it for myself without the obvious leaving Manila. I can 't speak for authenticity but Hainanese Delights makes pretty good chicken. Even if we 're talking just chicken , it 's fairly good chicken. It isn 't dry nor is the fried variant oily. The rice is all you can eat... View all feedback.
Aside from the hainanese chicken, laksa is the next comforting food if you are craving for a quick and simple singapore food trip. Since this is in the food court area, expect a noisy atmosphere and minimal seats especially during weekend lunch time.
We liked the Robinson's Magnolia outlet better than this one because of unlimited rice and free soup. For this outlet in the food court of Fisher Mall, meals are served with only 2 scoops of hainan chicken rice and no free soup. Condiments are also lacking which makes eating a hainanese chicken a bit lame. The hainanese chicken that we got is served also way too cold for my preference and the chicken a bit dry. Taste is consistent as with the other outlets so I guess what they got to worked on is presentation and timing of food preparation.
My guy and I like their chicken passionate and hot chick. We ordered other chicken dishes but somehow we became addicted with these two particular dishes. It' s just sad to know that they already closed their North Edsa and Megamall branches. :

Service: A bit slow, for a fast food place. But then they cook their food, I suppose, after ordering so it's acceptable. We always order: Tofu Terrific: soft inside, crunchy outside. The sweet sauce works well with the tofu. Surf and Turf: the pork and shrimp dumpling does not taste like the usual siomai. Thin sauce is also a bit sweet, a bit sour which pairs well with the dumpling. The hainanese chicken can either be fried or prepared the usual way, but I prefer the fried (less metallic taste . Plus, more of the ginger oil :
The food here is tasty, im always eating their White chicken and their kinchay dumplings.. The only issue i have here is how they cook the said dumplings, there were times i couldn't finish it even if i wanted to because some dumplings' pork inside are raw some are cooked well some are in the middle.. btw i always order steamed dumplings for it is healthier for me than deep fried and i like if it is cooked not so well but not raw because the sauce with lots of chilies and ginger penetrates the inside and bursts the flavor and yumminess. One more thing they only give you 2 cups of rice for other branch i visited you can eat rice unlimited.
