What User doesn't like about Paillard Cafe-Boulangerie:
We had the special of the day broccoli soup and a half of a sandwich that we asked for a BLT. The soup was more like gruel and the sandwich was beef, tomato, lettuce and onion. And may I add very sparse on the beef with no condiments around. The Breads and sweets looked amazing. If I was to go here again we would just grab a baguette and go to the deli and make our own sandwiches. (Then maybe go back for some sweets!... View all feedback.
Very good croissant and baguette. Cappuccino was also good. Fair price and good service. Recommended if you are trying to avoid the hotel restaurant
When we were planning our recent trip to Quebec City Paillard was a must see for us. It has been in the upper town QC a long time and just down the road from our hotel Hotel du Vieux Quebec. It was a Sunday early...afternoon and the place was very busy and very loud. It’s a large space with long tables and even an accordion player for they extra ambiance. The servers were friendly but there was a hectic feel. We ordered two sandwiches (beef and blue cheese and a ham and cheese croissant). Both were good but not wow. We didn’t stop in again for the rest of our trip and opted for a quieter coffee shop down the street for our morning coffees and pastries
We had a quick brunch while visiting the city. I had the Ham and cheese croissant which was OK fine but not the best I had. My wife had a feta and olive bread which was bit stale. The ordering system as you come in...was not clear and not well organized at all
I had the croissant and other desserts. It was outstanding. This it's suppose to be one of the only patisserie in the area that bakes their own treats and I can definitely tell the difference. I'm coming back tomorrow!
My wife and I, just returned from our Charlevoix Train excursion from La Malbaie, a train ride no tourist should miss. Arriving early afternoon, we skipped lunch on the train and headed back to our little hotel, Marie Rollet. We were hungry but didn't want...a full on meal, as we had dinner plans at the Restaurant Laurie Raphael that evening. Our Concierge recommended Paillards, a nice frenchy style combo of a bakery and cafe and much more. Everything looks invitingly fresh; meats, salads, pizzas and lots of home made bread. We both went for a combination of soup, sandwich and salad. I choose a cup of The vegetable soup followed with a baguette of Ham, laced with honey, dijon mustard and Rosemary Oil and Brie cheese. Real quite Good! Next time we are in Quebec, we plan to be back to visit this great cafe.
