I had an outstanding traditional Quebec brunch. We started with a selection of cold cuts, followed by a delightful plate of hazelnut cream, fresh goat cheese, and grape gel. Our fourth course featured a mushroom served with an eggshell, and we enjoyed a salmon cake as well. For dessert, we were treated to a delicious squash cake, all accompanied by impeccably brewed coffee. The staff were exceptionally kind, taking the time to explain each dish in detail. Everything was served in a beautiful rustic setting.
We had such a good time! If you enjoy food and talk about food, you have a place at the (convenient) bar that overlooks the kitchen room directly. The chef Sarah was so nice and shared her inspirations, technique and ingredient decisions. The waitress really seemed to know her stuff when it comes to wine, and recommended a big bottle. We were told that there was a recent shift in the focus of the kitchen that now inspired more middle-easts, but with a spin and local products. Everything in a casual and unforgettable night!
A delightful dinner service with classic French cuisine modernized with some Quebec touches. The dining area is welcoming that domestic meets industry. Our server was very polite and patient to explain the menu in detail in English. Food supplies full, is nicely prepared and delicious!
For our second course, we chose two items from the small plates section of the menu: the mussel salad and duck hearts. The duck hearts were accompanied by mushrooms, artichokes, and an incredible bone marrow sauce that was so good we decided to return for our last meal a few days later. Our second visit was just as delightful, featuring a slightly varied menu. Our first meal took place on a quiet weeknight, while our second was on a bustling Friday evening, so I recommend making a reservation. Both times we enjoyed sitting at a table, but there’s also the option to sit at the bar, which overlooks an open kitchen where you can watch the chef work her magic. For our second meal, we shared the smaller mixed charcuterie platter alongside three small dishes, including the duck hearts again. We also tried the smoked trout with bread pudding, which was fascinating and reminded us of a bagel with cream cheese and lox. The highlight of the night was the bounty dish, which included blood sausage and a spicy lobster-stuffed sausage. Both meals were outstanding. This restaurant is truly one of the best places I’ve had the pleasure of dining at anywhere in the world.
Great food. Would come back again. Great atmosphere!
