Since I moved to Canada I have been looking for a place that knows how to bake "patisserie" and got disappointed time after time.
Nice brunch. Croissants were excellent as well as the bagel with Brie. Inexpensive. Don't be fooled: some of the employees speak excellent English.
On our recent trip to Quebec City we were hoping we would encounter a lot of bakeries to enjoy some French pastries.
It's definitely worth the drive! Everything is absolutely delicious. We especially enjoyed the chocolate and mango-flavored éclairs, as well as the raspberry, chocolate meringue, and macarons. We love it!
I've never been to Croquembouche, but my friend brought me kouign-amann from there twice. The second time, I got four with strawberries and one with chocolate. Seriously, I've been eating one every day since! Before I die, I want someone to bring me kouign-amann like those! The flavors are so enjoyable; they really stand out.
