It is located in a very unattractive (but safe) part of the town,... read more My wife, daughter (18 years old) and I were quite apprehensive walking towards "La Barberie." It is located in a very unattractive (but safe) part of the town, just under the flyover near to the train station. However, once you get inside the building and grounds you realise that it is a little oasis. Very pleasant and large side patio (not talking about the one at the front of the building), with plenty of greenery. The woman who served us was very friendly and their own micro-brewery beers that I tried were very pleasant indeed. We were there around 2 pm on a weekday, it was not crowded and the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxing. More of a middle-aged clientele with not a yob in sight. Highly recommended!

I didn't sample the food from the small outdoor kitchen, but overall, the experience was positive. While it may not be a must-visit destination like it once was, this brewpub in the lower town is still worth a visit in my opinion.
