A convenient, well priced, local grocery store which more than met our needs. If we were going out on a day trip we would buy our sandwiches and snacks here. We also bought beer and wine for our holiday accommodation. A pleasant and helpful member of staff as well. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Epicerie Richard:
This has been my local epicerie for 10 months. It has a limited selection but does cover most of the necessities that you might want. Has a good beer / wine selection, I think aiming at the hotel visitors in the neighbourhood. If you are a hotel visitor you can pick up some things like locally made meat pies to reheat, cheeses, pates, crackers along with your wine for a nice meal on a wet night back in your hotel roo... They don't carry much of any one product so they pay a greater price for it so that comes back to you.
Purchased water here, and glad that's all we did buy. Dirty, unfriendly manager (owner?), and unappealing in every way. Terrible wine selection, and very overpriced. Even the locals know the place to be a dump. Avoid!

We usually stay in a B&B, but this year, we decided to try Air B&B. We found a small apt. on rue St Louis for 4 nights and needed some breakfast staples. This small grocery was right around the corner. We were able to pick up eggs, ham, croissants, butter, OJ, creamer, yogurt, fruit and wine for the price of one restaurant breakfast, Just what we needed and close by too. We didn't have the wine for breakfast
This place could do itself a favor and offer a more high-brow set of foods and fresh veggie and fruits. The displays are gas station mini-mart and it could be so amazing if they'd mix up the place and offer real cheeses for sale, better selections of meat and fresh bread wholesaled by a bakery. Old Milwaulkee and the like can be found anywhere else, why does it have to be at this shop? Bummer.
