We... read more I just enjoyed breakfast at this place, and the food and service were amazing—highly recommended! However, I had to change my rating from 5 stars to 1 star. We called to check if we could bring our chihuahua to the terrace, and the person on the phone said yes, so we made a reservation. But when we arrived half an hour later, they told us dogs were not allowed. It’s frustrating because we literally just called to confirm!

In summary, Don Vegan feels more like a casual beer garden than the gastro pub it aims to be. It's disappointing to give a vegan restaurant a mediocre review, but that's my honest experience.

The Carrot Soup was tasty, but the Summer Salad truly impressed us with its delightful combination of fruits and beets! For our main courses, we tried the Sausage Risotto and Tofu Noodles Stir Fry. The risotto was the highlight of the meal, bursting with flavor and cooked perfectly. The tofu in the stir fry was good, but the noodles were slightly overcooked and lacking in taste, so I added some hot sauce to enhance them. In the spirit of vacation, I indulged in a La Doñarita margarita, which was delicious, though I wished the glass was a bit larger! For dessert, we opted for an upgrade from the usual brownie to Warm Chocolate Cake and Maple Vanilla Pudding Bar. Both desserts were fantastic and not overly sweet, with the pudding bar being our favorite! The service was friendly and attentive, contributing to a wonderful dining experience in a lively atmosphere. I highly recommend this spot in Old Quebec City!
