Reviews summary
Nestled on State Highway 1 in Putaruru, this unassuming café is a must-stop for road-trippers seeking exceptional homemade pies, tarts, sausage rolls, roast beef rolls, sandwiches, cakes and excellent coffee. Affordable, no-frills and focused on quality over quantity, it serves flaky short pastry, generous fillings and freshly baked bread with friendly service. Frequented for detours between Taupo and Auckland, it’s small, cozy, and reliably delicious.

I stopped by to grab a pie while passing through town, and the steak and cheese pie was fantastic. It was loaded with steak rather than just gravy, and there was plenty of cheese. View all feedback.

This charming little cafe on State Highway 1 may not look like much, but it serves some of the most delicious homemade food at great prices. The coffee and cake are standout offerings! We tried the election slice and the white chocolate cranberry blonde, and they were absolutely fantastic!
I was strolling through Putaruru, not feeling hungry at all, when Bevs Delights caught my attention, so I decided to take a quick look inside. After enjoying two roast beef rolls and a steak and cheese pie, I was completely stuffed. The rolls were wonderfully delicious, featuring a soft, fluffy bread roll filled with layers of roast beef, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion, all topped off with gravy and gooey cheese. The pie was incredibly comforting. I discovered a real gem of a restaurant today. Well done, Bevs Delights! I’ll be sure to try some homemade baked goods the next time I visit.
The sandwiches were fantastic! I've always believed that less is more, and this bakery exemplifies that concept. Instead of being overloaded with various products, they focus on offering a few high-quality items. They truly know how to craft a sandwich that's not drenched in dressings. The service was friendly, and I highly recommend this place!

I've found my new go-to spot for my favorite pie snack! The pastry is delightful, the filling is hearty, and I'm especially in love with the peach passionfruit tart. Anyone passing through should definitely make a stop here!
