Was User at Riu Bambu a mag?
This is the second time we were in this hotel. Very clean rooms. Food is excellent with a lot of choice. There are several swimming pools and a children's playground. Staff are excellent and are always ready to help. Entertainment is also excellent with different files every night. There are also syringes world different slides etc. It is free to enter as this is part of the package. My only negative comment is the m... View all feedback.

What User dislikes about Riu Bambu:
The resort is beautiful. Rooms are fairly comfortable. Beds a kinda firm. Pillows are too small. Anything you ask for is given like blankets water, but not provided without asking. Mini bar is stocked every day with some water, but we had to request it every day. The steak restaurant was fabulous. Buffets were good and you could find something you liked.the other restaurant I wouldn't waste my time. We didn't go to O... View all feedback.

Directly on the beach. Some walking necessary but not like most the others. Food excellent everyday. Great chefs and different variety of food daily. Rooms super clean. No odors. All that you would expect.. The lobby and entertainment area could use a makeover but all considered and for the price this resort offers high value. 5 pools and 2 Buffett's plus 5 a la carte restaurants. There's room here for everyone. Places to meet or get away

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. Beautiful beach and pools the reception area is also well kept. My first night I was met with a very large roach in my room and also smaller roaches. When I reported this to the front desk staff they simply told me it’s the Caribbean and the housekeeper came with Raid. While I appreciated the housekeeper’s efforts it didn’t help the roach situation. I’ve stayed at multiple properties while in DR and Airbnb’s however none had a insect problem because it’s the Caribbean. The towels were very rough and needed replacing and had to ask for washcloths. Food was well prepared and service staff was friendly. Daily entertainment and vibe was excellent great music too. I’m not one who stays in my room much while on vacation so it was adequate, improvement to WiFi, power outlets and cleanliness would greatly improve this hotel’s overall aesthetic.

The hotel was good. Food was great and the staff was pretty good. My issues are as follows. What they DON'T tell you is they charge 5% on top of their quoted rate. This is for using a credit card. My wife got there a day before me and got checked in. After we got home and when we got the credit card bill, I noticed the extra 5%. My wife said they never told her about it. They just said sign here without an explanation. I tried to dispute it for 3 months with my credit card company, but the hotel wouldn't budge. No refund or credit. Screw you guys!! The small stores (marketplace) right by the hotel are a rip off. We bought the cheapest sunscreen and it was $25. Also, I'm very suspect their credit card machines had a fraudulent skimmer on them. The Dominican was ok, but I felt like everyone there was out to get you by somehow finding a way to rip you off. Our experience for the most part was good, but I will NEVER return to the D.R. again.

Went to Riu Bambu from 8/25-8/28. First and foremost the staff which include bartenders, waiters , cleaning crew and reception are impeccable. The property itself however, could use some serious upgrade. I booked 5 rooms total. Problems included electrical wall outlets that were loose and didn't grab the wall plugs to charge anything at all. In my room the iron and blow dryer were non-functioning. They only put 2 towels in the room when my room alone had 4 people. Oh, and the phone itself wasn't working so I couldn't contact front desk. I met only one condescending person at the front desk, his name was Ariel. My biggest problem was my mom got locked into a bathroom by the restaurant Ole and we couldn't find her for almost over 1 hour. Thank goodness the restrooms are regularly cleaned because that's when she was found. I am giving this hotel a 3, not because of RIU but the staff was great, they made the stay enjoyable.

We had to hold our chargers in the wall for them to work. We ask it to be fixed and it wasn't. I sure loved the warm weather. Overall it was a good trip.
