While some of my fondness for this place may stem from nostalgia, I truly believe it is one of the top South Indian restaurants in Pune, if not the best. The idlis and dosas are delicious, and the servers have consistently been exceptional over the years.

The dosas at Vaishali are truly the best I have ever had, and I have tried many dosas all over India and in the US. As someone with South Indian parents, I can confidently say that Vaishali's dosas cannot be matched, not even in South India itself. Be sure to also try their appetizers like veg cutlet and vada, as well as their fresh and tasty juices. The majority of the menu is vegan-friendly, especially staples like masala dosa and uttapam. Non-vegan items are clearly labeled with terms like butter or ghee. If you are unsure, feel free to ask a waiter or a nearby patron if a dish traditionally contains dairy products. Vaishali is typically crowded, but the wait for a table is quick due to efficient service. The restaurant attracts a diverse crowd, from older men enjoying coffee and reading the newspaper to college students, foreigners, and families.

They offer a variety of dosa options and other dishes, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere of the hotel is inviting and feels like a home away from home. The food here is really good, especially the Mysore dosa. My college is near FC Road, so it's a weekly tradition for me and my friends to come here. The staff are incredibly polite. I missed this place the most during the lockdown. We have tried almost every dish on the menu and I can guarantee that everyone will love this place and the food.
