We had a casual family lunch here and we all thought it was great. The dining area is a relaxed, outdoor area decorated with rustic, country style decor. The food was plentiful and tasty. It's a little on the expensive side but it's in an upmarket suburb so expected. Service was friendly but we did have to go up to the counter in the store to find menus. We'd go back for sure. What Anonym dislikes about Brookfield General Store:
the load was 10 minutes before the opening, but the door was open, so I asked if I could get something like I started working 6 said the young lady, she would ask. another lady returned and closed the door on me. no explanation no word. just rude. I was nice and polite and I didn't deserve it. another man on a bike was also there and showed how rude that was. I have gone and will never go back View all feedback.

AKA Brookfield General Store and Cafe. We went there for lunch recently and were quite disappointed. One of my daughters is celiac and the other has to be off all dairy and soy at the moment. Neither of them could get a meal there. The...only meal they said was gf was the veg soup with gf toast. Not too exciting! My other daughter could eat nothing because they had no ingredient lists for any of the foods as they were pre prepared and the cook had no idea what was in them including dairy or soy. All she could have was coffee with almond milk! Such a letdown! We had a baby in a pram and managed to find a ramp to the outdoor eating area.
I would recommend checking out this restaurant if you enjoy good coffee, a beautiful atmosphere, and friendly staff who are eager to please. The only downside is that they could use some additional training, but with a little effort in improving their coffee making skills, they could be fantastic.
I stopped for a casual lunch while on my way to an appointment in Brookfield. I ordered the crispy chicken Caesar salad from a simple menu. The price was $18, which I found reasonable for the overall atmosphere. I had dined at this restaurant before and left satisfied, but this time was a different experience. Despite COVID restrictions, the cutlery was stored in a drawer of an old piano, and the table was dirty with crumbs from previous diners. I had to clean it myself with antibacterial wipes. The exposed cutlery was unclean and had been touched by multiple people, which was concerning given the current COVID situation. No table water was offered, and there were no glasses in sight. The meal itself was disappointing - a large amount of mixed greens with minimal chicken and toppings. The dressing was commercial and the overall taste was underwhelming. I will not be returning to this restaurant again.
I usually pop in here a few times each month. Great little place to grab a quick bite to eat. I tend to pop in for a quick coffee after dropping children to school. Me and my wife often grab a late lunch before picking...kids up from school. Highly recommend it for great service, great food and great coffee.
