With the guidance of folks on an... read more While cruising the Canal du Midi, we found ourselves a bit stranded at the end of the days as the canal locks close at 7:00 PM. With the guidance of folks on another boat we wandered along a road so rounded by vineyards as we...entered an ancient village to find this incredible little gem. We were so lucky to arrive just in time for Paula (British expat) to allow us the last table even though we didn’t have a reservation. The small dining room was filled with a variety of nationalities, lending to the atmosphere. The food was amazing! We would make it a Chez Modeste a regular stop in our life if we didn’t live 8,000 miles away. Oh and by the way, walking back to the boat under a full moon was a great finish to the meal.

Delicious st... read more Super restaurant found just when we thought we’d end up having dry bread and potato crisps for dinner. Ten minutes walk from Canal du Midi mooring. Delicious steak and pork. Too late to sample the cassoulet or chef’s cauldron which looked excellent. Friendly staff. Do...take torch with you if returning to boat after dark!
