What ·X· doesn't like about The Patty Place:
The vegetarian burger was really bad. It was so unappetizing that I couldn't eat it all. It didn't contain any protein either. Despite the HappyCow listing mentioning soy patties, they were not available. The menu just stated "veggie" without specifying a soy patty option. The staff was friendly, but the food was not up to par in my opinion. View all feedback.
Patty Place is a Jamaican patty and ice cream shop in a mini-shopping plaza near Grace Bay Beach. I had the soy patty and the veggie patty, which the shop said were their two vegan options. I confirmed that the patties are baked separately from the non-vegan food. Baked, not fried. Both patties had a traditional flaky crust. The soy patty was filled with small bits of soy meat in a saucy mix. The veggie patty seemed to be mostly stewed greens, maybe callalloo? The greens gave it a distinctive and good flavor, while the soy meat was good but without much personality. At $4 each, try one of each for a light meal. The ice cream side of the shop was filled with adults and kids so I didn’t ask about options. Everyone there was having a good time.
Have to stop by every time I didn’t have the chance to cook vegan meals!
Must stop, every time I didn't have the opportunity to cook vegan meals!
I tried their chocolate non-dairy option and it was incredible! The flavor and consistency were both excellent. Highly recommend trying it. (Review updated on September 26, 2022)
If you find yourself on an island craving a refreshing dessert, this is the spot for you! With a wide variety of options to choose from, including non-dairy ice cream that is not sorbet, this place is a winner. Prices may be higher compared to other places on the island, but the portion sizes are generous. I tried a single scoop of non-dairy ice cream and was pleasantly surprised by the size - it was like getting two scoops! Toppings are included with your order, with the only vegan option being cut almonds. They also offer chocolate chips, rainbow sprinkles, and chocolate sprinkles, but these may not be suitable for vegans. If you're feeling adventurous, you can try a banana nip for an extra cost. They also have milkshakes available, although it's unclear if they offer soy or almond milk. Overall, this place is a great find for anyone looking for delicious non-dairy treats on Providenciales.
