Cook & Brown Public House - Providence

We went to this restaurant for some drinks and a relaxed dinner. The food and drinks were tasty, but the service was extremely slow. It took 40 minutes for us to receive all of our drinks. In fact, two groups of customers left because the service was so slow. Additionally, there was a strong smell coming from the bathroom. It was so overpowering that we had to request to be moved to another table in order to escape the odor. Despite the fact that it was not busy, with just our party and three people at the bar, I would not recommend this place.

First off one of the best scratch bars I've been to in years. Great selection of bitters. The food is always good especially seafood. Brunch is more interesting then most places and a good deal.

Super fresh Greek Salad and Fried Hake and chips. Amazing salad. When i finished I was contemplating ordering another. The batter on the Hake was unbelievably light and without a single drip of oil. service was great. you'll leave saying, man, that was a good meal!

The meal was absolutely horrible. Even the water glasses smelled. Totally overrated. Skip it.

First of all they require a credit card for the reservation. Annoying to be honest. The food seemed to be missing that one ingredient. Or chef was trying to hard with certain ingredients. Only entrees and priced relatively high for the value you got. Then gratuity was included. for a party of six. Not expecting that. Won’t dine there again
