Despite my earlier experience, I decided to give this place another chance and returned with my family on Tuesday around 10:30 AM. I'm glad we did because the food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. We received our drinks, cutlery, and food within 15 minutes, even though there were only two staff members serving five other tables. The new staff is a great addition. Keep up the good work! What Anonym dislikes about Caffe Cena:
The food was average and overpriced. It was almost empty during lunchtime on a Saturday, which says a lot. Either the menu needs a serious refresh or they should hire a chef with better expertise in Italian cuisine. Additionally, some of the cutlery we received was not clean. Unfortunately, I must also mention that both staff members had a noticeable odor. It wasn't just a hint of sweat; it was overwhelming enough th... View all feedback.

They do simple breakfast well, the portions are generous and the atmosphere is energetic and lively like an Italian household. Weak mocha. The milk was lacking in texture and the coffee was a little burnt. Nonna’s breakfast. Eggs cooked in a rich tomato sauce with cacciatore sausage, pine nuts, chilli, garlic and onions served with wood oven toast. The eggs were perfectly cooked and rich golden yolks were gushing out as soon as I cut into them while the tomato sauce was rich and tangy with a mild heat. The sausage was deliciously salty and spicy. The best baked eggs I’ve had to date.
Just had a really poor breakfast from Caffe Cena. Ordered the ‘Cena works’. Food took 35mins to come out, it was cold and just of really low quality. Very soggy mushrooms, tomato and sausage. For the price, I expected a lot more. My sister ordered the smashed avo and her poached eggs were also cold : would not recommend this place although I was a frequent visitor in the past.

Caffe Cena offers an excellent breakfast menu. I enjoyed the smashed avocado with poached eggs, while my friend chose Nonna's breakfast, packed with vegetables and eggs. For $26 through Groupon, we each had a main breakfast dish and a hot drink. The food was delicious, healthy, and well-prepared. Service was prompt, and the restaurant is clearly a popular and bustling spot.

Delicious yet just a few pork ribs (literally just 4). Not the kind of dish that will order if you're starving. The pasta with Prawns Chorizo was 5 Prawns and I couldn't find the chorizo.
I ordered the fettuccine boscaiola but received penne pasta instead. There were only two other diners in the restaurant, yet the service was still lacking. The flavor was mediocre, with hardly any mushrooms and very little chicken. The dish consisted mainly of pasta and sauce. For around $21, I expected much better quality food.
Went for breaky because my wife was craving pancakes. They were packet pancakes, and arrived at the table stale and cold. I expected homemade at a cafe. I don’t want to recommend order pancakes. Other food is so so, hot drinks were fine, service was good.

Cena!! This place is historic, homey with a hint of trendy attached as of the last year or so. The food here is delish! Big fan of their chicken salads, the steaks been great, snitty well cooked and I’ve heard the pizza is pretty darn good also, but yet to try. Cena is reliable for good food and coffee any day of the week. Long term customer and will continue to be.

A pleasant lunch spot, we both ha risotto, mine was Pollo (main size) and my friend the Marinara (entree size). Both dishes were a good size, mine did have a lot of broccoli (maybe a bit too much) but also plenty of chicken. Coffee is good and it wasn't too loud (even thought there was a large group behind us.
