When we went around Progreso, we went past Los Cocos at noon and it was busy with many people. They had written the menu so we decided to go back to dinner. They close at 7:00 and we're here at 6:00. We have our choice of table and service was attentive and friendly. We spluged and ordered the fried while fish paid after weight. Our server brought out two fresh fish and we chose one and she explained how to say the freshness. Beans, tortilla chips and squash were taken out before the meal. I had a Piña Colada and Nabeby had a beer and a water. We ordered a plate of beans and rice. The fish was cooked for perfection. Crispy and deliciously seasoned. There were some bad reviews for this restaurant, but I give it the highest rating for food, price and service. Was it a bit worn-out looking and dirty? Yes, but this is to be expected in some off-the-beaten-path Mexican restaurants. We got hand-sanitary before I entered what I liked. We paid $675 (Pesos) for our entire meal with the fish by $20 (dollar). I recommend and would certainly return.

Terrible place they try to trick you on the exchange rate. Pedro the waiter bad service overall. No good for business a place to avoid if visiting progreso. Dont let them get away with trying to trick you. We paid less than the bill and told them to call the police if they didnt like it.

The food was good, and it seemed as if they looked after the Covid 19 problem. It took some time before they served our food, but it was quite busy at that time... But when the food came, it was very nice.

We ended up stopping at this place to have some beer and get out of the rain. The service was excellent and our server was very friendly. The beer was relatively expensive for Mexico but i guess Progresso can hike up their prices because of the cruise ship visitors. which was fine. Whenever my boyfriend and i would order a round the server would bring us a complimentary bowl of tortilla chips and various delicious dips and condiments. I would recommend sitting in the restaurant as opposed to the beach if you are looking for good service. you can still sit out in the sun on the patio and people watch.

We were a group of 12 females on a cruise that stopped in Progreso. We decided not to book a formal excursion and instead go to the public beach. Walking along the beach we were asked by several restaurant owners to use their tables and umbrellas on the beach, and were told they would bring us drinks. The first waiter suggested we run a tab. The second man (arm in a cast said we had to pay in cash. To avoid confusion, we decided to pay cash for everything. When it was time to return to the boat, we were presented with a bill for $180! The server denied that we had paid anything in cash!! We spoke to both servers at the same time (one represented himself to be the manager , and both denied we had paid cash! Luckily we had enough money to cover the bill, but only barely since we only took what we thought we might spend for food and souvenirs. BUT WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO US IF WE HADN'T HAD THE EXTRA CASH? Our group consisted of six adult females and six teenage girls. VERY SCARY! STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I couldn't find the name of this restaurant on Trip Advisor and had to request it be added. They may change the name routinely if word gets out about their way of doing business, so you may not find this name anywhere. My recollection is they were the only restaurant on the public beach with red umbrellas and they were next to a place called Buddy's (just read reviews that indicate similar problems there! . My advice is either book an excursion through Carnival or stay on the boat.
