This was the first place we ate at during our 10 day stay in Progreso. It is friendly, and easy to navigate the menu. The staff's English and our basic Spanish got us by. People mention the gringo menu, but we always got one in Spanish. We had drinks and ceviche the first time and breakfast the second.Ceviche was great-a little salty, but I found all the ceviche in Progreso salty, so it must be me.For breakfast I had eggs benedict. This is something that didn't translate well. It was a poached egg on a untoasted piece of white bread cut in a circle (to represent an english muffin, I assume). The Hollandaise was some kind of white cheese sauce. The meal was good, but it should have a different name!I would go here for drinks, food is unremarkable (not bad, just not a memorable meal). Like, don't go there to propose to someone or have your wedding anniversary celebration!

Each bar on the south side of the malecon has staked a claim to a section of the beach on the north side. They all have tables, chairs, loungers, and umbrellas or palapas. We chose the Le Saint Bonnet area. We only had cocktails, pop, and chips. the staff was very friendly and attentive. They also didn't gouge you for sitting in the area (which is a rumor we've heard about some of the bars). We ended up coming back twice in the five days we were in Progreso.
