This was the first place we ate at during our 10 day stay in Progreso. It is friendly, and easy to navigate the menu. The staff's English and our basic Spanish got us by. People mention the gringo menu, but we always got one in Spanish. We had drinks and ceviche the first time and breakfast the second.Ceviche was great-a little salty, but I found all the ceviche in Progreso salty, so it must be me.For breakfast I had eggs benedict. This is something that didn't translate well. It was a poached egg on a untoasted piece of white bread cut in a circle (to represent an english muffin, I assume). The Hollandaise was some kind of white cheese sauce. The meal was good, but it should have a different name!I would go here for drinks, food is unremarkable (not bad, just not a memorable meal). Like, don't go there to propose to someone or have your wedding anniversary celebration!

Each bar on the south side of the malecon has staked a claim to a section of the beach on the north side. They all have tables, chairs, loungers, and umbrellas or palapas. We chose the Le Saint Bonnet area. We only had cocktails, pop, and chips. the staff was very friendly and attentive. They also didn't gouge you for sitting in the area (which is a rumor we've heard about some of the bars). We ended up coming back twice in the five days we were in Progreso.

Went with friends once and saw that all the other tables - with local people - had an array of botanas (free snacks). We asked for some and received chips and salsa. The other tables had ceviche, beets, and various goodies. Went another time with a gringa friend who has lived here for over 40 years and we received the gringo menu with doubled prices.

Service fast friendly and spot on . We had a Conch Shrimp Ceviche , It was great ! The portion was large with a lot of Conch and shrimp . Tomatoes were sweet and fresh and so was the Conch and Shrimp . The Tostadas were very crisp and lite not greasy . We enjoyed the Sea Breeze and close to the Beach and Gulf Sea. Enjoyed the open air of these huge palapas . We will return as the service and portion and Price are excellent . Its hard to find Conch here in Progreso any more and this place really has great Conch . The Botanas were great also .
