The food and service was excellent. We will return. The huge fireplace was very inviting for an evening meal, while the large windows made breakfast a delight with a beautiful view.

We loved the drive out to Priddis, which is part of the experience. The atmosphere is spectacular inside and outside the venue. Next time I'd love to stay at the hotel as part of the offered packages, and enjoy it a bit longer as well as the included breakfast. The food was very good, however, the portions were large and I could not finish. This seems like a waste of food and nobody likes stuffing themselves. Secondly, there is no dessert in the 5 course meal which seems odd. It would be better to take out one the appetizers or soup or decrease the main course portion and include dessert. The service was excellent. A few more signs would be helpful on the property as it can be very confusing where the proper parking lot and entrance to the restaurant is if you've never been there.

Came here for my birthday dinner with husband and teen. Quick Summary: Service was wonderful and friendly and food was delicious. The setting is even better and there 's time to go take photos outside in between courses. It 's great to find something tucked away in such a beautiful setting with lovely food to boot! I would recommend Opal Restaurant Longer review: We were super early for our reservation, but the restaurant was empty (it was a Monday night) so they were happy to seat us and get us started. (More customers came in later on). I 'm sure some bartenders hate this, but I 've taken to simply requesting for a fresh/fruity/sweet cocktail when I go to nice restaurants. I was asked which alcohol I prefer and I told the Sara, our server, either Gin or Rum. My husband had a view of the bar and bartender and told me that the bartender took special care of concocting a summer cocktail for me, taste testing it himself before sending it out to the table. He made me a gin based cocktail with mint and cucumbers. Very refreshing! He even came out later on to ask how the cocktail was. Clearly a man who takes pride in his work. Now, onto the food. To start, the kitchen sent out some complimentary amuse bouche of Fried Oyster . Our teen is timid with trying new foods, but found it to be alright which is a compliment coming from her. The flavour was light and not overwhelming like oysters can be. For the first course, we had the Charcuterie Board for 2 and the Bison Carpaccio. I have never had carpaccio before (I used to eat my steaks well done) but this appetizer was delicious. The flavours were very delicate and the presentation easy on the eyes. The Charcuterie Board was A LOT of food. The three of us could not finish it. There were three types of meats and three types of cheeses and condiments and crackers. For the first time, I had a charcuterie board that did NOT have prosciutto (I 'm not a fan of prosciutto) so that was refreshing. There wasn 't anything out of this world exotic on the board so should appease most palates. For the next course, we shared the Mulligatawny and the Caprese Salad, both of which were delicious. The Tabbouleh that came with the Caprese Salad was my favourite so far into the meal. Before the main course, we were served a Sorbet palate cleanser which was beautifully presented on ice blocks. Mine had Happy Birthday engraved into the ice. For our main course, my husband and I both had the Wagyu Beef Tenderloin and the teen had the Wagyu Striploin. The Tenderloin came with a braised short rib, baby vegetables (carrots, patty pans, zucchini) and truffle mashed potatoes, much to my surprise and delight. The teen 's striploin came with the same vegetables, and also a meatball on top of mushroom risotto. The Striploin was quite a large dish for the teen and so she did not finish it all. All of our steaks were so tender, we didn 't even need steak knives. Just regular dinner knives were sufficient. And the steaks were all cooked to the perfect doneness. After all that, I was too full for dessert, but the husband and teen shared the cheesecake which they thoroughly enjoyed. The pacing of the meal was perfect...not too quick and not too long. We were given ample time to enjoy the Charcuterie Board and also had time to go outside and take photos in between the first and second courses. The only down side I would say is that we ordered too much food. I think we could have done with just either an appetizer OR a soup/salad. Having both was too much for our stomachs ' capacity. All in all, it 's a beautiful, quiet and relaxing place for a lovely meal, either with loved ones, friends, or even business associates.

This was our second time dining at Opal. The dinner was tasty and the wine pairings, while a bit pricey, were generous and worth it. Our server Carly was friendly, upbeat, and knowledgeable. However, the wine server could benefit from more information about the wines they serve. The ambiance of the room was lovely and spacious, but the food and plates should be warmer to balance out the cool environment. Overall, a delightful experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
