I used to enjoy eating ice cream cake at the Royal Danish before I became vegan. The ice cream cake and atmosphere there are lovely. However, I was disappointed with the vegan ice cream I ordered. Before I became vegan, I used to enjoy having ice cream cakes at Royal Danish. The ice cream and atmosphere are lovely. However, I was let down when I tried the vegan ice cream. Don't get me wrong, the ice cream is delicious, but I would appreciate being able to enjoy it freshly scooped rather than frozen for takeout. Despite this, I requested to have my ice cream warmed up in the microwave so I could eat it while sitting in the restaurant.
I discovered this restaurant through Happy Cow and later heard about it from some vegan friends. We decided to try it out and ordered three different vegan ice creams. I chose the chocolate flavor, while my friends opted for the strawberry and chocolate varieties. The ice cream is made with a coconut milk base, which was quite noticeable in the taste, but overall the flavors were very nice. The only downside was that the ice cream was quite solid, possibly due to being stored in a freezer that was too cold. If it had been a bit softer, it would have been perfect and tasted just like traditional ice cream!
