Booked for 7pm, arrived five mi... read more Tried here before Covid and kept waiting 45 minutes get served. Said 'never again '. But made the mistake of going back tonight. Booked for 7pm, arrived five minutes early. Shown to table, then nothing. Twenty minutes later and even the promised menu had failed to arrive, so we left and went to another local restaurant where we had instant service. Appalling!

We should have realised a... read more Booked a table for 9 people. The setting is beautiful however we left disappointed as we had a 2 hour wait for our meals to be served. We should have realised after waiting 45 minutes for a menu to be provided and drinks order to be taken. When the food finally arrived it was very tasty, but unfortunately the 2 hour wait dampened the evening. Many other diners in the restaurant finished 3 courses before our starters even arrived! Sad to say we won’t be returning as the food is very good, but overall experience was extremely disappointing.

Even the fries were good. We'll go back.

The lunchtime deal (3 courses plus a glass of wine for €13.50) is exceptional value, but there's no compromise on the quality of the food. The menu varies from day to day, with two options for starter/mains, and 2 desserts or cheese for the third course. The mains were 1x meat and 1x fish on both occasions, you would need to check in advance to find out if there is any provision for vegetarians. The food is beautifully presented (see attached photo of our starter salad), and tasted as good as it looked. The service is friendly, and the location (floating decks on the lake when the weather's fine) makes Covid-safe eating easy. We were told that the ownership has changed hands in the last couple of years, and the quality of the food is better now than it's ever been.
