Verbena - Prairie Village

Excellent, creative dishes. The staff was wonderful! I highly recommend the rabbit pasta if it's still on the menu.

Underwhelming is the word I would use to describe our visit to Verbena. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the presentation was nice, but the food didn't live up to expectations. Ingredients seemed to be of good quality, but service was slow and the food cold and bland. Very unimpressed for the prices paid and service received and I don't see any reason to return.

Fabulous ambiance from the patio. The food was quite creative, but ultimately, rather pedestrian. Overpriced for the quality. The duck meatballs were good. The rye pierogi was so so. The duck liver was excellent. The fried oysters were not good. The pork chop was okay. For all the hype I would have expected better. Go for drinks, outside, and the view.

Phenomenal Lobster toast!! Really the whole menu is fantastic though. The black cod is one of the top 2 fish dishes I have ever had. Plus the stuffed chicken was amazing. Moral of the story is: eat here and thank yourself
