I discovered Uminono through a recommendation on Broadsheet and decided to give it a try. I absolutely loved the experience! The food was fantastic; the sashimi was incredibly fresh, the truffles were delightful, and it was the best seaweed I've ever had. I discovered Uminono through a recommendation on Broadsheet and decided to give it a try. I absolutely loved the experience! The food was fantastic; the sashimi was incredibly fresh, the truffles were delightful, and it was the best seaweed I've ever had. I also enjoyed the unique cup for the soy sauce—it added an extra fun touch. The chefs were friendly without being overly talkative, which I appreciated since I was dining alone. I will definitely return or order their sushi boxes the next time I visit Melbourne!

I just wanted to share how wonderful my experiences have been at this Japanese sashimi restaurant. I’ve been there twice now — the first time I ordered an Omakase box for takeaway, and this time I decided to dine in. Both experiences were absolutely fabulous. I’d love to highlight Kiki, the sommelier — she’s a Taiwanese girl who is so professional (really, full of professionalism! , detail-oriented, and interacts with guests beautifully. She recommended perfectly matched wine pairings that made the meal even more memorable. Her knowledge and warm service truly stand out. The entire team is fantastic as well — attentive, friendly, and always making sure every detail is right. Whether it’s takeaway or dining in, they consistently deliver an amazing experience. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for fresh sashimi, thoughtful pairings, and outstanding service. I can’t wait to come back again! I can’t say I’ve been to Japan, but I’m certainly a sushi aficionado. I’ve had a few omakases, and by far, Uminono is THE BEST. Their level of attention and the way everything is so thoughtfully curated—from the extremely yummy dessert to the most flavorful and delightful nori—is truly outstanding. I’ve celebrated some milestones here, and the team has always looked after us in such a special way. I’d gladly have a weekly meal here if I could haha. Thank you so much Uminono team, you are the best of the best! Shout out to Greg for being super sweet and remembering I am not a fan of wasabi and to Arnaud and also the creator of the DELICIOUS dessert. Arnaud and all the staff are very welcoming, and clearly a master of their craft- the food and atmosphere was amazing! Kiki the sake sommelier was excellent and gave us a wonderful recommendation. Highly recommended!
