It might seem weird but this is proper local restaurant pub! Czech beer and Czech food at its best. This restaurant even has its own people who sits there all day long! Cmon, the food is delicious and service is fast. The prices are amazing! You are next to the most luxurious building in Prague and can have the great cheap Czech food! Woohoo View all feedback.
What Stephanie S doesn't like about Restaurace Olympie:
Ok stop. Had the Pilsner. The service here is so slow. Slower than a sloth even. We had to practically grab the waiter to get a second round. As for getting the check, this took at least 15 minutes after our glasses sat empty for a while. Be prepared to wait if you come here. View all feedback.
I got here for lunch, and was told I could sit anywhere since the restaurant wasn't crowded, so I picked the table near the window. The grumpy waiter told me that the table was for 4 people so I had to switch to a smaller one. I wouldn't mind if there wasn't another person who came a couple minutes later and sat at the same table by himself, and this time the waiter didn't complain. Quite a discrimination. Anyways, onto the foods, I ordered a half litter of Czechia beer Pilsner Urquell and Svickova. This was my first time trying these 2 things, so it was a fun new experience to me. The beer was super light, and I wasn't buzzed at all. The Svickova was interesting. The sauce was on the sweet, creamy side, while the meat was kinda skimpy and tasted like it was preserved and marinated a long time. The dumpling bread pieces were glutinous and interesting. The whipped cream and jelly made the dish even sweeter, which was a strange combination of savoriness and sweetness. Anyway, an interesting lunch.
We came to Kolovna Olympia as part of our tour, so I don't know if our experience is the same as someone who just walks in off the street. I will say we greatly enjoyed our lunch here. Perhaps I'm just a huge fan of Czech food! I didn't detect any surliness on the part of the workers as many have mentioned. The goulash was great with two kinds of dumplings. My wife had a beef and mashed potato dish and our friend had a beef in gravy sauce that he liked so much he sought it out at another restaurant the next day. So all in all we had a very nice meal at this restaurant.
Fun, authentic Czech beer joint. Pilsner Urquell is their brand. Bartenders were fun and attentive. Plenty of futbol on TV.
We were recommended to try this place by our host for an authentic Czech food specialty's famous Pilsner. Having stopped by a few, I felt this Restaurant captured the best offerings and was a lively fun stop to boot with cheap very tasty beer! We started with pickled sausage served with bread and order of beer cheese, omg, I really love Czech food. We shared the mixed meats platter which was plentiful especially after having the appetizer. We had great service even though can get very busy. I read it's a chain but didn't feel like it, this location is nice as you should walk up Petrin hill (nearby) to work up your appetite for this hearty tasty meal.!
Came here for late evening dinner, were lucky to get a table without a wait on a weekday. Bar at the reception is interesting for sure. Our first night in Praha, so we wanted to try the Pilsner Kozel beer loved those. Also the red wine was good. Chicken noodle soup was wonderful. We tried the grilled assortment, farmers chicken, spaghetti, roast salmon with herb crust (the side mashed potatoes were delicious !! likes them all.
