Good Italian restaurant popular for their pizza which they make downstairs in a wood fired oven. I had the margherita which was good but too big to completely eat by yourself yet too small to share. The place was busy for lunch yet the servers were pretty attentive throughout. Would recommend if looking for an affordable lunch in the area before heading into the busy and more expensive Old Town area. View all feedback.
What Ravi S doesn't like about Carmelita:
Service was poor, the chap had an attitude from the moment we sat down. We ordered the Rigatonia Arrabiata (which wasn't spicy) and the Picante Pizza. Both were just okay nothing special at all. The location is pretty decent for people watching but the poor service and the mediocre food. I'd suggest trying to find somewhere else to eat and people watch. View all feedback.
Pizza was decent but nothing special, location is convenient right off the main street. Prices are high due to influx of tourists definitely a tourist trap!
Our first day in Prague, we stopped here for dinner. We are glad we did because we ended up having a fantastic time. Everything was just great and really set the mood for the rest of our vacation. We started off with some cocktails, and then we all ordered pizzas for entrees, and boy, were they tasty. The service was warm and the ambiance was very cute and inviting. A homey feeling.
We came in for a meal on a whim and found one of the best restaurants in Praha. Our starter was the Formagio E Verdure Alla Griglia, a perfect salad to share with a group of four. The eggplant was grilled and the goat cheese topper was delectable. I ordered the Spaghetti Mafiosi at the recommendation of our friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff. It had a savory and spicy blend of steak and tomato gravy atop a mound of perfectly cooked pasta. It was too much! My companion enjoyed the piping hot Gnocchi Maiale All Forno with its silken textured gnocchi and creamy cheese sauce and heavenly combination of bacon and pork tenderloin. It was a portion large enough to fill a family of three, while maintaining very reasonable pricing. My other dining companion got the Risotto Ai Funghi Porcini, which I quickly sampled. I found the dish to be delicately season, yet flavorful. The serving sizes were so generous we found no room for dessert. We will plan better next time!
If you are craving Italian this spot has you covered! After eating many hearty local Czech meals we then craved pizza. So glad we found this spot. Indoor and outdoor seating as well as basement seating. We just had the pizza and starter salad as a late meal with wine and it was damn near perfect! I highly recommend their wood fired pizza. Good service and plenty of Italian food, wine, drinks and dessert on the menu, if we had more time in Prague I def would be back!
Came here two nights in a row because it's near the theater my daughter is performing (and rehearsing at. Shared the pesto pizza and mushroom risotto last night with my daughter. Went back by myself tonight because I liked it enough last night and didn't want to choose something new. Had the prosciutto and arugula pizza tonight. All were very good, solid examples of what they are. Actually, the pizza was quite good with a tasty and light thin crust. Wait staff was (similar to all of Prague friendly and welcoming. Sat at a lovely two-person table in the window watching the world go by and lingered over my dinner and Prosecco. They have free Wi-Fi and will not push you out when you're finished eating (like the rest of Prague. . The music was mostly 80s pop which I love and made for a light and happy environment. If you're in the area, worth stopping in. Would I cross the city for it? Probably not.
