Description

Nestled away from the bustling crowds, this restaurant offers a unique dining experience where guests can grill their own meals. While some patrons find the breakfast options limited and the service inconsistent—ranging from a less-than-welcoming bartender to troubling billing practices—the standout dishes, like the Fridays' fish fry and quality burgers, have garnered praise. With reasonable prices and a charming atmosphere, it's deemed a hidden gem by loyal visitors. Scenic drives and outdoor seating enhance the appeal, making it a worthy stop for those exploring the area. Consistency in service and menu variety could elevate the experience further.

Hookers has an amazing Friday fish fry. They have good food at a good price. One of the better old fashioned sweet drinks too! A little out of the way, but worth it. If you are in the Portage area, check it out!

Nearby activities: This is an excellent spot to visit if you're out boating on the river. Food and drinks: The food is fantastic and priced fairly! Noteworthy details: I've been coming here for years! It's a wonderful place to dine, enjoy a few drinks, and take in the weekend entertainment!

Bread is so good and I think the steaks are reasonably priced regardless if you grill them or not! Been here multiple times and have never been disappointed

Tonight was my first time there. I was the officiant to the wedding party that was there tonight. In all about 40 people came and purchased meals. The food was good and cooking my own was fun. So what was my problem?? The wedding party asked for some additional disposable plates and silverware for the cake. Which was brought out. About 10 minutes later a woman came to my table trying to figure out who is paying for this “additional service.” Wait?! What?!? 40 people, averaging $30 a meal, plus drinks, and you need to adamantly figure out who is paying for the disposable plates and silverware??!! It was so off putting and distasteful I was not sure I would return. What sealed the deal was the 25% gratuity they added to my bill. “Because of the group size.” I tip in cash. And I tip well. Their policy is flawed. I will never return. I will not recommend.
