The Kitchen Table - POUND RIDGE
The Kitchen Table
Description
**The Kitchen Table: A Mixed Bag Experience**
Nestled in a quaint corner, The Kitchen Table offers a cozy spot for breakfast and lunch, with occasional dinner service that features locally sourced ingredients. Guests rave about standout dishes like the decadent Cuban Sandwich and the bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. However, service can be hit-or-miss, with reports of indifferent staff and long wait times, leaving some patrons feeling undervalued. Nonetheless, the welcoming atmosphere and quality coffee create a charming dining experience. While many recommend it for casual meals, guests should be prepared for potential service hiccups. A visit could be worth the risk.

For more than six years, the Westchester Health Department has repeatedly cited this joint for sourcing its food from “unapproved sources,” meaning that it comes from places not shown to be safe for restaurant supply. Why the Department has not shut these folks down is anyone’s guess. They’ve even caught these guys hauling in food from Costco (rotary chicken, “frozen” food), unrefrigerated in the back of an open pickup truck. Care to risk your own family’s health? Stopped on a whim after a Saturday work appt, staff was so lovely and called me by name. I ordered the food to go, figuring I would take a bite and eat the rest when home. The breakfast burrito was so good that I may or may not have ate the whole thing in my car: Also appreciate the real honey and think slice of lemon for my green tea! Will be my new go to passing through Pound Ridge for sure. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This was our first visit to The Kitchen Table and definitely won't be our last! We ordered the Cuban Sandwich and was the most amazing Cuban we ever ate. It was so decadent and juicy. Came with a side of Cape Cod chips. We also ordered the Chicken Salad with salad did not disappoint. Enjoyed every bite. Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu! Don't go expecting traditional dining experience. Asked to pay and tip before meal and drinks are served. Frankly, I regret tipping given the following. Overpriced food only for it to come out on a paper plate and taste bland, over salted, or burnt. 1 of the kitchen staff had gloves on and the other didn't. I watched him grab a tortilla wrap, lick his fingers and continue cooking. Not recommended. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
Thanks to McKenna! She is the main host behind the counter and very hospitable and personable! The owners as well are lovely people.
