Without a slither of doubt, they serve one of the best parmis in Sydney. The mushroom sauce is a game changer a local favourite I’ve been frequenting for years. View all feedback.
What Chanel Kuhlman dislikes about The Bourbon:
So i ordered the Watermelon salad as ive had it before. It had fetta, nuts, greens and was delicious so i assumed it was the same thing. Unfortunately, the menu has changed due to Covid so.its now changed to a bowl of watermelon and a few dollups of cheese. Is lettuce also under restrictions?? Avoid. The staff member was nice and let me order something else. Naturally, I declined another salad. Good relaxed atmospher... View all feedback.
Okay, this is a pub on Kings Cross, so that probably should give you a pretty good idea of what it is like, considering what Kings Cross in Sydney happens to be like. Mind you, this place does bring back some good memories, namely because I ended up spending a whole night here chatting with some new friends that I had made. Like, yeah, this place wasn't bad at all, though it certainly doesn't have the charm that some of the other pubs that I have been to happen to have.
So I came here, waiting to check into my hotel up the street (Australia has some super late check-in super early check-out times, whoa). I 'm enticed by a $15 lunch deal sign, but the sign is only for weekdays. Argh. They got me good... But nonetheless, I check the place out. Mind you, it 's right before noon time too. So, like I always do on vacation, I drink at all hours. Why? Because like I just said, it 's vacation. Ew, no early drinking at home unless it 's brunch. Only brunch vacation does early drinking ensue. I digress...anywho mission was to get grub here a cocktail. The gal at the register says, 'We have a cocktail special upstairs actually. ' Yo. Really though? Really. It 's 11:30am. This doesn 't happen at home. I hopped on that deal like whoa. Go to the bar, get a cocktail a good meal too. Bartender is too cute all smiles (literally, he smiled he entire time I talked to him. It was so nice). The food was really good actually. Drinks were really good as well. So, whilst I wouldn 't of picked this spot out omg general, I 'm glad I passed by it gave it a chance.
It where it's at. Boom!!! Band where awesome and good selection of tap beers nice wine and amazing toilets!!
We came here after a disappointing trip to the pop up Moe 's Tavern which left us hungry and wanting a burger. It was State of Origin night, which meant King 's cross was like days of old, when there were 90% less douche bags in the street. All of them were in pubs elsewhere watching the big game at that point. We sat in the outside seating area and perused the menu. Whoa. If you like American style huge portions and everything slathered in cheese, bacon and chipotle sauce then you have come to the right place, my foodie brethren. I ordered the Cheeseburger with bacon and extra sauce. Not only was it the best value, but it was so damn tasty. so. damn. tasty. There was a live band playing inside and some people boogieing along to the music, which was refreshing also. Not the cheapest for food and beverages, but honestly worth the .
I've been here a few times while staying in the cross and always had good food here. It has a nice atmosphere and a good menu, I've usually gotten a larger main like a steak, which have been very nice, especially the seasoning and sauces with the different dishes. After reading many of the reviews here I will have to try the sandwiches next time. They have a nice layout and a good stage setup for live music, which I was able to catch one time.
