Kleines Lokal mit nur 10 kleinen Tischen. Sehr gute Speisenauswahl, auch vegan und vegetarisch. Auf der Karte stand das es Fladenbrot zu allen Gerichten gibt, aber wir hatten keins. Haben es auch nicht vermisst und nicht danach gefragt. Daher keine Abzüge in der Note. Den Stern weniger gebe ich für 2 Kellner die bei 10 Tischen es nicht schaffen nach einem weiteren Getränkewunsch zu fragen, oder ob alles ok ist. Meine... View all feedback.

We were in Potsdam looking for a sizable lunch on a Sunday, and chose Laila because it was not on the main thoroughfare a little off the beaten track. It seemed like a family run affair a young guy/waiter gave me the wifi...password, while the older guy took our orders etc. There was a lady cooking. We all agreed that the food was very tasty and filling. Veal, lamb, beef and chicken. There were vegetarian options. Well worth a look!
The food is Persian. The tasty chicken dishes are delicious. The restaurant has insied and outside areas. The boss is on premise and observes everything. He did not seem customer oriented. Perhaps it was the hot day. But go for the food and not the...other things.
The atmosphere is set by Persian lanterns, modern decor and plenty of candlelight. We ordered the surprise platter for two, which was only good surprises! We started with side salads, followed by beef filled dumplings, candied-orange rice, eggplant/tomato dish, and the most amazing tender lamb...that was spiced but not spicy. We also enjoyed the Lebanese wines, not what you see in most restaurants, and the waiter was helpful and friendly.

Spent a long weekend in Potsdam with friends. We made a reservation at the Laila restaurant, which was good. Without a reservation, there was no chance of getting a table on Saturday evening. The food was excellent. We had a curry, a beef dish in saffron sauce, a mixed starter plate, and the grill plate for two. Everything was delicious. We can't say whether it was truly authentic Persian
