We were told that Poses was a very pretty village on the banks of the Seine. However there is a shortage of restaurants in this village. 'Aux Tilleuils' was open for lunch and had a good size car park and is only 100m from the riverside walk. The restaurant has a good local trade and also sells some basic foodstuffs (we did not see another shop in the village). We were well looked after by a lady who spoke good english and explained the lunch menu. It was cheap and cheerful. The dinner dinner menu is probable more comprehensive, but I would not expect to see a wide choice of courses.

Menu at 12€50, excluding flat work serves a 1/4 wine; Several dishes are offered, it is not great gastronomy, but the dishes are good and properly cooked. the reception is pleasant, rather a refectory but nice atmosphere. this small brewery made bar, small grocery store and bread store, everything dreamed of a small village....Petite stop pleasant before the visit of the biotropica animal park

A friendly place for the lunch break from where you go with the tight belly skin. you eat well for a very correct rate in a village bar-tabac atmosphere.

We had planned to lunch at a much more expensive restaurant nearby but had neglected to call ahead and found it had not one but two party bookings so we wondered down the road and found Aux Tilleuls. Friendly welcome, the lady greeted us in...English but then had a panic attack when she realised she didn't know the english for some items on the menu, so we switched back to French. Fixed lunchtime menu with three choices for entreé and for plat, including a huge bowl of moules which will always win my lady's heart. It didn't have the views of the place we failed to get into, but at half the price, add a walk along the riverside, a very pleasant break to our travel.

Driving through Poses at lunchtime we saw this place with outdoor seating on a warm day and chose it.If you like to eat with the locals, it's a wonderful choice. It's menu of the day had about mains (tripe, chicken, rabbit, beef, fish) and...a help yourself system for starters and desserts in glass fronted fridges. We chose our drinks, ordered the mains and were politely instructed to go to the fridges to choose the starters we'd like. We chose a small meat platter and egg mayonnaise; our mains the chicken with chips was served after a reasonable time and was delicious (a chicken quarter in a vegetable sauce with chips). When the plates were collected, we went to the dessert fridge for our choice.... chocolate mousse; cinnamon and raisin pastry; gateau with nuts and Chantilly cream were just I can remember. Gateau for us! We both had a café au lait to finish; I'd had rosé wine; a carafe of water and it cost less than It was so friendly; the waitress spoke some English and with the little French I speak we managed well! A lovely change no wonder it was full of local people.
