What User doesn't like about Canton Palace Chinese Restaurant:
Great food, lousy house wine, over zealous staff. Dishes (one seafood, other Mongolian combination) arrived on sizzling hotplates. Very tasty and just enough. Tip for customers: do not order the red house caraf if you like wine. It was lolly water! Tip for waiting staff: please stop 'hovering' to check if customer has finished eating. Very annoying. The most amazing Chinese food this side of the planet. the service was great, like the ambiente. when they come to portland victoria, this is the place for a beautiful meal. 15 out of 10.

The meals are always beautiful and from a high standard and johnny the host is always friendly and helpful.

I have never ever accounted such rudeness in all my life the meal cost $88 after being quoted 81.50 the quail was like string! Dried up and just yuk!! The steak dishes were grisly and chewy! I rang them to explain how I felt they...said they would call me back! Of course no phone call! I then rang again the next day to be told that I had to ring back at 5pm I rang back at 5pm Only to be told to bring back the food or no refund! So I’ve got these half eaten containers that I have to bring into their restaurant at service! Or no refund! No sorry or nothing! As a chef this is so unacceptable to bring in half eaten food into a restaurant or no refund! It’s against health regulations! I’m disgusted and disappointed! What a shocking hospitality experience! I will never ever go back there again!

My fried wontons and duck as main course was great with little filler veges and boneless wonderful duck with free prawn crackers

My husband and I had very pleasant experience at Canto Palace. We ordered delicious sweet sour prawn, pecking duck and combination fried rice. The friendly service, food and portion were all excellent.
