What Nancy Rat Rat likes about The Bayou Kitchen:
Fricken heaven. Atmosphere is perfect, staff friendly, huevos rancheros amazing. Just finished a breakfast of omelet with salsa Verde, black bean chili, cheddar and spinach with red beans and rice and blueberry cornbread. Good coffee, lots of hot sauce. And for a place with andouille, crawfish and hash, lots of veg options. Again, heaven. View all feedback.

My favorite breakfast place in Portland. The daily specials are where it's at! A dollar or two more than a dive diner but we'll worth it!
Good buzz, great food, happy place for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Colorful and cheerful, fascinating open kitchen. Locally sourced sausages, perfectly cooked eggs.
Everything on the menu is dope, as is the service. Best southern soul food in Maine!

Coffee pancakes were delicious. Never had one of those before. All the omelettes were good, too. Great flavor. Would go back.
