It 's a tiny restaurant and they have a difficult parking situation, but the food and the service are WELL worth it! My wife and I went on my son 's girlfriend 's recommendation, and we were grateful we let her pick! The brisket was PERFECT! And the waitress was top-notch as well! Update 9.14.23 THIS PLACE HAS GONE DOWN HILL the meat is fatty has lost all the flavor that made it great. Plus the greens don’t taste the same I have eaten at both locations it seems this location has taken on some of the bad habits of the location that closed. The Brisket is the best in Portland by far! Great service. Food was excellent. Portion size is perfect, not too much too little. The food comes out in time. Nice ambience. Good place for children. Large selection, if you are vegetarian. Will be back.
Plante to stop and pick up takeout, but decided to dive. Good move! We enjoyed the chili afteros appetizer, but the star of the show was the wedge salad (I ordered it with the Brisket Add-on). I didn't even touch the brisket and bring half the salad home. It was very good; I look forward to enjoying it remains for lunch. My wife loved her pork sandwich and Koleslaw. A little expensive, but the quality of food is excellent. I think we'll go by next time so I can taste some of the adult drinks and don't worry about being the designated driver.
If you are looking for mouthwater BBQ in the South Portland/CE area, do not look further than Elsemere! Friendly staff. Good portions. Succulent BBQ, which falls out of the bone, melts in the mouth, and you reach again for more. Can be for the brisket, pulled pig, sausage and ribs all are fantastic. Hell, even the sides and the grain bread are good. Prices are somewhat high, but in line with everything else in this area (too high). Very recommended!
Delicious, bought the three meat option and was not disappointed. Cornbread was good, but slightly dry. Total 5 stars
Awesome service, great drinks and the best part such great food ! Not to mention more food for your penny! Such friendly staff and very cool vintage bar as well as open seating . If your in the area definitely stop here for a quick bite to eat or watch a game !
