Contribute Feedback What Lucy B likes about Trio Portland:
The early dance scene is enjoyable, with plenty of space on the dance floor. I also really like the karaoke room. However, it can get quite crowded on Fridays and Saturdays later in the evening after 10 PM. The drinks are decent, with some good top-shelf options. I usually stick to whiskey or bourbon, either neat or on the rocks. View all feedback.
What Jordan K doesn't like about Trio Portland:
This restaurant seems to change its cuisine every week, alternating between Chinese and Mexican food, which is quite confusing. It also has a terrible reputation that seems to be well-deserved. The management appears to lack any understanding of running a restaurant and seems indifferent to the needs of their customers. I would strongly advise avoiding this place. View all feedback.
Trio Lounge review There was no line at the Trio Lounge on New Years Eve and only a $10 cover, which was impressive compared to other venues. My friends and I pay our cover, and then… wander through a hastily cobbled maze of chain link fences crudely covered in butcher paper. It had a strong resemblance to the temporary haunted houses that pop up around Halloween. We soon find ourselves guided through the kitchen and onto a secluded dance floor gated off from the main portion of the club. The music was astonishingly loud, and with only a single room to be in, there was no place to talk. There were only two other features in this room other than the dance floor the line to the bathroom, and a couple classy decanters of water in the corner. Unfortunately I have to use the bathroom. Eventually I got through the line and was greeted by what appeared to be the hardest working toilet in Portland. It’s a sight. Its porcelain skin drenched in equal parts urine and condensation. At some point a truly overworked server walks along the perimeter of the dance floor. Dim light and loudness make it difficult to communicate, but she is amazingly good at interpreting. Pure professionalism. Twenty minutes pass and we wonder if she actually worked there. She shows balancing a tray of drinks but the lack of a table, or perhaps the darkness, or maybe the proximity to dancing bodies, it comes tumbling down. Our poor server is near tears, describing how that is the second time that has happened tonight. The floor becomes just a little more sticky, and we leave. “It’s pretty bad in there,” we tried to let the security guard know as we left. “I’ve heard,” he replies, in the bland exhausted tone one learns when confronted with a dissatisfied public. Honestly it was pretty eerie, there was virtually no one on staff to interact with. You pay $10 and you go into a loud dark hole. It also felt a bit like robbery, since as we were leaving we were told that we would get refunds on the drinks that fell but I was still charged. My heart goes out to the security guards, bartenders, servers, and all the staff at Trio Lounge, that whole setup was a catastrophe. I can only imagine how stressful that night was for all of you.
Shots are waaayyy overpriced the bartenders on NTE were slow as molasses Very disappointed as The Trio Lounge has gone downhill alot just over the last 3 yrs.
So much potential. If they get the bar working they could make so much more money. They also need to run sound better. The club is nice and the one bartender was trying so hard but the rest of the staff was lost. One bartender for a full club and then closing out credit cards for every drink ... ???
Layout is fantastic. It REALLY is a beautiful place. Bartenders are excellent (and quite beautiful, if I can say that . Now for some improvements that they might want to consider. 1. I 've been in a number of bands and the stage is TRULY too small for any kind of show. 2. The Karaoke setup is terrible (DJ was good and doing the best she could with what she 's given but c 'mon, that is NOT a real Karaoke setup (not even close . 3. DON 'T ORDER FOOD!! I cannot stress this enough. I don 't believe it 's the cook 's fault but the Chef should never allow food like that to be served to real people. Every place that serves food should have a chef involved. I had an excellent time and the ambience was OUTSTANDING. Would i recommend the place for an outing? Yes, absolutely. Just read my comment, please. Set your expectations low and you 'll be pleasantly surprised.
Service/bartenders absolutely terrible. Paid a cover to wait for a drink for 30 minutes to never be served. Would put zero stars if I could.
