NYer here, definitely as close as you to NY Pizza in Maine/New England. Texture is right there. Sauce is different, but overall great pizza. Regular cheese is the way to go, these guys know what they are? That's it! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pizzaiolo:
Breathe my last cake from Pizziola! As a restaurant owner, I cannot understand how or why they thought a price increase of $10 per size is justified for mediocre pizza. $38 for a big pizza is crazy, maybe when Portnoy you up 9, This is not New York. View all feedback.
I grew up in Connecticut, 20 minutes from the world famous Frank Pepe's, surrounded by other incredible, lesser known pizza places, and in the shadow of the pizza capitol that is New York City. I've lived in Maine for over a decade now and nothing I've tried has even come remotely close to competing with even average pizza joints in NY and CT. That is, until I tried Pizzaiolo. Pizzaiolo is the real deal, and I would hold it up favorably against some of the gold standards of New York and Connecticut. If that's your preferred style of pizza, this is by far the best place to go in the entire state of Maine.
Big fan of thin pizza with a crispy crust. Pizzaiola nailed both. Very good New York style pizza. We had the Bronx and Pesto. ?
Came in close to closing in their new location off of forest avenue, was promptly greeted with a a huge smile from the amazing hostess, or waitress who unknown to her I had probably the worst week in a long time and after asking for a slice, she immediately noticed the pizza was cut wrong, added another slice because it was smaller than the rest of the pies, and threw in a order of garlic knots that were fresh but never picked up. It turned my day around 180° and she may never know. I would give this place 6 stars if I could! Always an amazing environment and I have been their amazing genuine Brooklyn style pizza for years but tonight?s food? Topped off while wholesome.
A star not because of quality, but inflation. Your pizza is fucking good. I called today in a little Bronx pizza, 9 September 2022. I bought the same one month ago and it costs $19.00 tax. She said: this will be $29.00 tax (I forgot exactly). I said, I don't want a little big! She said this is the price. I just bought one, it was $19.00 . She said we went to our pizza? Prices. I said, $10,000 SCRATCH THAT ORDER! I did it with AMATO? I called an order, $11.00 for a little loaded?
Great pizza for a late night snack attack! We ordered the Bronx with bacon added! So delicious and it had a little kick to it with spice! Great customer service. We even got cannolis since they were closing soon! ???
