Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed. It is disappointing to see that it is no longer in operation.
We tried the chef's tasting menu and absolutely loved it! We would definitely do it again without hesitation. It's heartbreaking to hear that Old Salt is closing.
Great quality, friendly neighborhood atmosphere. The Ham Hocks were amazing... I still want the secret mustard recipe. Great place, our best meal in Portland
My family and I made reservations for my birthday. The atmosphere is charmingly rustic but open and light filled. The service was gracious, attentive and knowledgeable. The food is some of the best I’ve had in Portland. I highly recommend this place.
Superb meal at Old Salt. It 's an interesting combination of Portland farm-to-table cooking combined with a butcher shop and great cuts of meat. It has a fun, informal, neighborhood vibe and the service is very attentive. Only two things I would fault them for. 1. the wine-by-the-glass prices are too high and out of line with the other prices on the menu. 2. my rib eye steak, which I ordered medium rare, came out medium. It drives me crazy how often this happens at restaurants. If you say rare , I guess they think you don 't mean it. Regardless, Old Salt was great in all other respects and I recommend it.
