What User doesn't like about Obon Shokudo:
We tried several dishes at the restaurant, and while some were enjoyable, nothing stood out as particularly unique or special. We started with the kakiage and Tater-Tarts, both of which were really tasty. We also tried the soup and the tofu katsu. The bread on the tofu katsu was delicious and spongy in the middle, but it was overly salty with little extra flavor. Although the appetizers were good, we were most excite... View all feedback.
The staff is excellent and the food is even better. We had the employees order for us and had the most incredible meal. We ate the delicious food so fast that I hardly have any photos! 3 of us shared Kakiage (Friends), a market salad, the oku-Special (delicious congee), and each one Onigiri. I went as full as I was hungry before! A member of our party is GF, and the staff was very accentuated.
I really like the food here and it feels healthy and tasty, but I definitely think it's pretty expensive, especially for the small portion sizes. Otherwise I would give it five. I love the potato ball things
This is probably one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I love Japanese food and to have a place like this: that's vegan and creatively reinterprets Japanese cuisine with such flair, spectacular flavors, and dare I say, love. It's rare, craveworthy, and you must eat here. Every detail is looked after, every plate an experience.
I've never tasted anything like the cabbage pancakes or the upon salad. Everything was really flavorful and carefully made. Staff is nice, cute ambiance, great place for a date!
I wanted a quick snack, so I grabbed a few onigiris and a potato salad. The potato salad was pretty good, and I loved the fresh veggies. The onigiris, unfortunately, were not my favorite. The flavor of the filling was not my favorite. The shop itself was charming, and the person behind the counter was very sweet. I feel bad giving a vegan restaurant three stars, but I was disappointed overall. I would try it again, but it will not be my first choice.
