Oh, young! That was the sweetest, freshest sushi I've had in a long time. The service was excellent, and the prices were average for sushi restaurants. I plan to make this my go-to spot for lunch trips in North Portland. Yesterday, I also visited Killer Burger, which was good, but Momiji is on a whole different level. I was truly impressed! What User doesn't like about Momiji Sushi Prescott:
Had high hopes for this place. Miso soup is decent. But the lack of quality is inherent in everything we ordered. Rice was old and hard. Fish was really thin for the nigiri we got. It felt like everything we ordered was premade. Wouldn't give this place a second chance even though it's close by. View all feedback.
When I arrived to pick up my order, the staff member told me it would take another 10 minutes. This was now almost 35 minutes after I had submitted the order. When customers are given a designated pick-up time, they expect their orders to be ready. In my case, it hadn’t even been made yet. Furthermore, the restaurant's small size offered no place for me to wait, forcing me to return home and wait around before coming back 20 minutes later. This is completely unacceptable, and this is not the first time I've encountered poor customer service from this employee. When I finally got my sushi, the rice was so hard that it was nearly inedible—something I’ve never experienced here before. To make matters worse, upon checking the bag, I realized they hadn’t included any soy sauce. Overall, this visit was disappointing, and I hope they improve their service.
Regarding the sashimi bowl, the salmon was delicious and flavorful, but the tuna tasted fishy and not fresh at all, which put me off the entire bowl. In the future, I would order the salmon separately to avoid the tuna. The unagi donburi was decent. The eel had an unusual texture at one point, and I almost thought I was biting into a bone. It wasn't as tender as the really good varieties, but it was still okay, and I would consider ordering it again. As for the Wolfbite roll, I wouldn't recommend getting it as takeout since it was soggy and unappetizing. I would reorder it for dining in, but it's not at the top of my priority list. While it had good flavor, the miso soup unfortunately didn’t impress me; there was something about it that just didn’t taste great, so I ended up not finishing it.

The rice and gurkensalat were much too sweet in my order, maybe only one night.
Best sushi selection I have had in Portland. Diverse menu, excellent customer service, and efficient prep work make this spot a must stop for sushi out in these streets.
