My normal location was closed. So I stumbled on this location. Let me just say words can't describe how delicious their oxtails we're. I also loved the pineapple Jamaican drink as well. The food was so good I didn't get to take photos. But if you want somegreat JERK food please don't sleep on this location. All the food was piping hot as well. I can't wait to get back down toPortland for them Oxtails. View all feedback.
I do have to say...I agree with the previous negative reviews. Pricing is way too high almost $30 for 3 pieces of oxtail, service quality is way too low and the ambience inside is incredibly depressing. I won't be returning.Food: 1/5
This place was ok, the rice was soggy, the sauce was thrown all over the food. No extra sauce on side. Chicken tasted old. I wouldn't recommend.
Ya mon! C'mon down for some great j chicken. Warning: the large plate is not lying.Food: 5/5
It’s unfortunate to see the negative reviews. My experience was awesome. I had no plans of stopping here. I was just driving by and I could smell the distinct 100% lump charcoal smell flowing from that barbecue. I pulled a U-turn and stopped for lunch. I got the chicken curry size large $15.99 Photo of my food is attached. The curry was out of this world. So rich and full of flavor and spices. The chicken was falling off the bone, tender and absolutely slathered with that curry sauce. The rice was done to perfection and the cabbage was boiled perfectly… not too soft and not too firm. I had to soak it in all that curry to make it even better.I had a nice chat with the guy rock-in the barbecue. I believe there’s one other person in back working as well. He was nice enough to let me have my dog in the outside seating area as long as no one else was around. But as other customers arrived we ate our meal in the car.It wasn’t good enough that I would make it a destination to come back. But if I was in the neighborhood, I would definitely recommend it for lunch.
I went there June 19th just before 4pm with a friend.1. All their meal prices are HIGHER than in any of the photos of their menu board quite disproportionately high for the meals served.$72.00 and a 40 minute wait for the following:1 oxtail meal1 curry goat meal1 j leg quarter just the chicken2 small orders of plantain. No drink or extras72 bucks.Jerk chicken flavor was average, meat not cooked thoroughly, still bright pink at the bone.Curry goat flavor was below expectation based kn other curry goat I've had and very small portion, especially for $27.00!Oxtail very good flavor and tender BUT...only 2 ,yes 2 small oxtail bones!Steamed cabbage side came with meals no noticeable seasoning at all. Just nicely steamed plain cabbage.Very disappointed ?Their menu prices aren't accurate, their main course meal portions are tiny and come with large serving of beans n rice as filler.Over all ?
